Autumn Term 2025
In our afternoon lessons the children gave inspiring speeches inspired by Winston Churchill, practising their public speaking and learning about his famous leadership during World War II. They spoke with great confidence and expression — a wonderful way to bring history to life!
In PE, the children enjoyed playing kabaddi, showing fantastic teamwork, energy, and enthusiasm. It was brilliant to see everyone joining in and encouraging one another. We finished our PE unit with a tournament which the children enjoyed.
As part of our Writing topic, the children learned about Scott’s journey to Antarctica. They felt how cold it would have been by holding bags of ice and even tried tying shoelaces while wearing thick gloves — discovering just how tricky life in the freezing conditions would have been!

Here are some examples of work we've been doing in class:

We've had such a fantastic term so far in Zephaniah class. It has been so lovely seeing the children work together and getting along nicely. At the start, we enjoyed getting to know each other, making our class display and thinking about the qualities of a good friend.
In LMTW, we launched our 'Mission Control' topic where the children became human models of the Earth, Sun and Moon, acting out their orbits. In PE, they’ve learned the basics of Kabaddi, as well as performing different dance actions in groups. We’ve also now finished part one of our English text, Cosmic, where children wrote what they predicted happened next, and now we are just starting our part 2 - writing a news article!
We’ve also had some fantastic homework in, including an impressive scratch project diary on all the planets, as well as some very tasty baking!
